Why do men exist? Scientific study offers an explanation
LONDON (Reuters) - Since in many species, sperm is males' only contribution to reproduction, biologists have long puzzled about why evolutionary selection, known for its ruthless efficiency, allows them to exist.

Very interesting research. Certainly gives us men a purpose in life than simply being couch potatos.

But... seriously... perhaps having a competition of mates bring on a sense of purpose for the participants. Thus, a more healthy desire for longer life. Maybe the couple without choices and challenges get bored and have less desire to life longer. The children could pick up the laziness trait as well. Are these thoughts taken into consideration when the experiment is done?
